Renewable Energy Tour

The Bruce Peninsula Environment Group (BPEG) is running its third Renewable Energy Tour on Saturday September 9.  It runs from 9:30 – 3:30, and includes tours of area homes that have implemented renewable energy solutions.

Technologies on display include solar thermal hot water, solar thermal heating, wood pellet stove, geothermal heating, solar photo voltaic, and small wind.  The tour also includes a stop at the 1.8 MW Ferndale wind turbine.  Each of the homes on the tour will be hosted by either the homeowner, or the manufacturer or installer of the product, who can explain how it works, how they decided to buy, installation issues, etc.  You will be in a small group of less than 30 people, and so will have an opportunity to ask questions.

Comments from previous participants have been overwhelmingly positive.  If you want to learn about renewable energy technologies, this is an outstanding opportunity to do so.

The tour has been sold out early in the past, so it is important to book early.  Phone Sara Wilkinson at (519)793-4670 to book tickets, or send an email to bob.wilkinson1@sympatico.ca.  The cost is $25, and includes a fine homemade lunch.  Proceeds from the tour are used to support the activities of BPEG.  Hope to see you there!
